Troubleshooting for BJI-643 Cartridge Canon BJC-800/820 Printer
| Problem: | Cause: |
| Faded Print / Lines in Print | Cleaning Needed |
| Solution: |
| Check manual to run printing and cleaning cycles. If this does not alleviate the problem, there is a server air blockage in the line. Follow instructions below: |
| Problem: | Cause: |
| Faded Print / Lines in Print / No Print Lines | Severe Air Blocked |
| Solution: |
- Remove platen cover.
- Turn on machine and begin to print a page.
- Turn off machine as printhead carriage travels to the right so the printhead stops in platen area, where it accessible.
- Moisten a cotton swab with water. Tip printhead back gently with finger.
- While holding printhead away from platen, gently apply cotton swab tip against printhead to activate printhead ink flow.
- Run cleaning cycle several times; then run Print Test-A. If print results are successful and satisfactory, there is no need to proceed beyond this step. If print results are unsuccessful, go to step 7.
- Repeat steps 1 through 3.
- Slightly moisten a paper towel and fold into a small compress.
- Tilt printhead back and place compress between the printhead and the platen. Leave compress on machine overnight (6-12 hours - the longer the better).
- After time has elapsed, remove compress and sheet of paper. Run cleaning cycle several times.
- Run print test sheets to ensure problem no longer exists. Repeat if necessary.
